Résumé

My name is Riana Medford. I grew up in Brooklyn, NY raised by Caribbean parents who made education feel like both a gift and a responsibility. Before law school, I was dancing, writing, falling in love with hip hop in my father's car, and sitting inside a courtroom by the age of thirteen, just a kid trying to make sense of the world around me. That curiosity is still what drives me. I am now a Juris Doctor Candidate at Howard University School of Law, graduating in May 2027, and I am drawn to the space where entertainment, technology, and the law meet. I have seen what happens when the law does not understand the culture it governs, and I want to be someone who changes that. When I notice a gap, I start thinking about how to fill it. Right now, that looks like building a legal tech app focused on protecting creators' digital likenesses.

Culture. Innovation. Entertainment. Technology.
